Using Passkeys link arrow_upward

A passkey is a digital credential that allows us to sign in without our password. It is connected to our device and allows us to login faster using our device's pin or biometrics.

  1. A prompt will appear upon signing up, or next signing in. Click Create a passkey.

[Passkey]

  1. A prompt will appear on our device to save a passkey. Select either Face, Fingerprint or PIN, then follow the prompts.
  2. Once the passkey is saved, it will sign us into 2ic Pallets.
  3. The next time we sign in, click Continue with a passkey, and sign in.

[Passkey]

If our laptop device does not support saving passkeys, we can choose to save the passkey on our iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

  1. A QR code is presented on-screen. We scan this using the camera on our iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
  2. A prompt will appear on our device to save a passkey, click continue and wait for a confirmation to appear on our computer. This request can time out quickly.
  3. Once the passkey is saved, it will sign us into 2ic Pallets.
  4. The next time we sign in, click Continue with a passkey, and sign in.

When to contact 2ic Software support:

  • If we can no longer access the passkey or device.
  • If we click Don't show me again on the passkey prompt, and we would like to set it up.

Using Multi-factor Authentication link arrow_upward

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is another secure way to protect our account. This can be setup in addition to passkeys. MFA can be enforced across our database. Otherwise, we can set MFA up individually once we are signed in.

  1. Sign into 2ic Pallets.
  2. Click our name in the top-left corner of the page, and open My Details.
  3. Under Sign-in Options, tick Use multi-factor authentication. MFA will be required the next time we sign in.
  4. When we next sign in, a QR code is presented on-screen. We scan it using an authenticator app on our phone, e.g. Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.
  5. The authenticator app provides a code. Enter this code in 2ic Pallets to complete the sign in. This will be required each time we sign in.
  6. A recovery code will appear. Copy this recovery code and keep it somewhere safe to use it to sign in without the authenticator app.
info

Once multi-factor authentication is activated, it must be used to sign in. To switch it off, we use it to sign in before unticking the option on the My Details page.

info

Auth0 require MFA to initially be setup via an authenticator app. It only needs to be set up once on any device (personal or an organisation's.) After this has been setup, we do not have to use the authenticator app as our MFA method, we can use Email or Recovery Code.
